take acid and put on what ever you think is right, thats what happened a lot back in the late 60s and early 70s (they best classic rock era).

classic rock is mainly just what ever you wore normally during that time.

Or do you mean on stage because that is different:
on stage they would do all sorts of crazy things like dress in strange looking out fits and stuff, just look a Peter Gabriel when he was in Genesis or Jethro Tull.
Women, i suspect that they would wear long sort of mystical dresses like in Heart and Stevie Nicks, most of them just wore normal clothes like Jefferson Airplane and Janis Joplin.

Also Gene Simmons was not classic rock, he was hard rock and stuff from the (what i call) fall of classic rock (due to MTV!!!!)
